Good Riddance's Russ Rankin Drops Sophomore Solo Album 'Come Together Fall Apart'
Published Jan 28, 2022Punk veteran Russ Rankin — of Santa Cruz's Good Riddance — has dropped a new solo album Come Together Fall Apart today. The record arrives courtesy of new Toronto-based label Cursed Blessings/SBAM, and now, you can hear it in full below.
Recorded at the legendary Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins, CO, with Descendents/Black Flag producer Bill Stevenson, the record marks Rankin's first outing since his 2012 solo debut, Farewell Catalonia.
"I was introduced to doing solo stuff by my friend Tony Sly, because he was doing it," Rankin said of his continued solo journey. "He had always been really complimentary of my songwriting and he suggested that I try it."
He added: "So, I started trying to write some songs that I could play with just a guitar live. I've always loved Billy Bragg. Specifically the combination of really heartfelt, emotional kind of relationship type songs, which I've written a few of."
Vinyl pressings of the 11-track album are available for pre-order here. Stay tuned for news of an upcoming North American tour.
Rankin's record was previously introduced with album cut "Abolish the Senate" and lead single "Babel," the latter of which arrived with its own lyric video, seen below, where you can also stream the album in full.
